Myofascial Release Massage
Myofascial Release Massage is used on trigger points that are located in taut bands of muscle tissue. Taut bands cause muscle shortening which reduces mobility and is painful. Push skin by gliding to one side of the band to locate sensitive area. Then, skin pushed by gliding to the other side at completion to deactivate trigger points. Reduces pain and improves function in trigger point and referred area. Another technique is a pincer palpation that is used for muscles that can be picked up between the therapist fingers.
